About The Red Hedgehog

The Red Hedgehog takes its name and inspiration from a famous 19th century coffee house in Vienna, Zum Roten Igel, the regular haunt of many composers of the period. Celebrated carousers included Schubert, Schumann, Mendelssohn and especially Brahms (who stubbornly refused to eat or drink anywhere else.)

The Red Hedgehog (Vienna) evokes food, drink, conviviality and lively conversation between musicians, artists and thinkers.

The Red Hedgehog (Highgate) adds a fine grand piano and the thrill of top-class live chamber music-making in a setting which provides an especially close rapport between players and audience.
